BC publishes a comprehensive 170 page booklet/guide for Seniors that can help British Columbians with the information they need as they age. All of the items listed here and many more are listed and explained in that booklet.

BC Housing- Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters. this is based on your rent and household income, anyone in the Park with a gross income of less than $28000/ yr should look into this.
You may be eligible for S.A.F.E.R. if you meet all of the following conditions:

  • You are age 60 or older.
  • You have lived in British Columbia for the full 12 months immediately preceding your application.
  • You and your spouse (with whom you are living) meet the citizenship requirements.
  • You pay more than 30% of your gross (before tax) monthly household income towards the rent for your home, including the cost of pad rental for a manufactured home (trailer) that you own and occupy.

Tax Deferment Program:

The Tax Deferment program is a loans program available to eligible B.C. homeowners. It allows you to defer your current year property taxes. This applies a restrictive lien against your property, for tax deferment purposes, a charge registered on title that prohibits changes to title except when certain conditions are met.
Fees If you applied for or renewed the Regular Program, a fee is added to your account. This fee is not required to be paid at the time of your application.

  • $60 for new applications
  • $10 for renewals

The City of Langford

Manufactured Home Park Redevelopment Policy POLICY NO: 3030-00-1 – Mobile Home Park Land Use
CRD Bylaw 377 This bylaw is effective as of the 26 of October 1977 and is not enforceable on Parks created before that time. This is the only actual Bylaw I have found pertaining to Mobile Home parks, that is on the books for the City of Langford.
